Ava Alexander Year 9

Ava's football team, ACF Barwell FC, have been working with the FA on a program they are looking to roll out called 'The Greater Game'. It consists of four Pillars - Eat, Sleep, Think & Move. Ava’s team have been focused on the Think pillar which is focused on mental health and resilience. The production team have been to the club twice to film the girls in action and have recorded them answering questions. They were so impressed that they invited three members of the team, including Ava, to St. Georges Park, home of England football training. On Tuesday 2nd April they met and interviewed the Lionesses in advance of their game against Sweden.

The team members they met were Mary Earps (Goalkeeper), Georgia Stanway (Midfielder), Chloe Kelly (Forward), Khiara Keating (Second goalkeeper), Zara Musker (deaf futsal captain) & Samantha Gough (blind football captain).

The girls came away inspired and determined to improve their game. What a fantastic opportunity!
