Computing Success! ASTRO PI – Mission Space Lab

In Mission Space Lab teams of pupils are invited to write computer programs that solve a scientific task in space. This year’s task was to gather data to calculate the speed at which the International Space Station (ISS) is travelling as accurately as possible.

Four of our Year 10 Computer Science students took part in Astro Pi Mission Space Lab and have had their programs chosen and cleared for flight status! They will be deployed on the ISS later in the year.

Well done and congratulations to Tomas Jackson, Joshua Middleton, Thomas Tristram and Harry York. Thank you to Mr King for leading them to such an amazing achievement!
