KS4 GIRLS REACH NATIONAL QUARTER FINALS!

Our KS4 girls were in last-16 action against Samuel Whitbread Academy in the National Schools Competition. Reaching this stage alone was a fantastic achievement.
The girls were up for the challenge from the outset and started the game brilliantly. The 3G surface suited our style of play, and we took a deserved early lead midway through the first half when Chido fired home. We continued to play some excellent football, creating numerous chances, though without adding to the scoreline.
Samuel Whitbread responded with an athletic striker who managed to break through and level the game just before half-time.
The second half began in style, with Chido once again finding the net coolly slotting the ball into the bottom right-hand corner to restore our lead at 2–1. Samuel Whitbread had a chance to equalise shortly after but struck the woodwork, and from that moment on the game belonged to our girls.
Our third goal was the highlight of the match, coming from some outstanding passing football. Ava, Sophie and Ruby combined superbly, with Ruby finishing clinically to make it 3–1. With 15 minutes remaining, the girls showed great game management to close the match out comfortably and secure an impressive victory.
A well earned McDonald’s on the way home capped off a brilliant day. Reaching the last eight of a national competition is a massive achievement, and we now look forward to discovering our quarter-final opponents.
A huge well done to all the girls involved and thank you Mr Coyne and Mr Whitley for fantastic management.
